Why Genshin Impact Isn’t Releasing On Xbox

Why Genshin Impact Isn’t Releasing On Xbox. Indie developer MiHoYo has released Genshin Impact, a new open-world, free-to-play RPG. With its beautiful surroundings and top-notch action gameplay, the game has already proven to be a critical and commercial success, grossing $60 million in its first week solely from smartphone purchases. Genshin Impact initially launched for the PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile devices, but there are plans to expand the game to other platforms in the future. The game’s Switch port has already confirmed, and plans to bring Genshin Impact to next-generation systems are already in the works. The indie RPG will not be coming to the Xbox Series X, which is a shame for Xbox enthusiasts. Or, at the very least, not yet.

IGN Japan spoke with a MiHoYo representative about the developer’s plans for Genshin Impact in the future. As a live service game, MiHoYo will continue to develop Genshin Impact over time, introducing new material and gameplay while also updating and optimising the game, according to the spokesman. While there are no plans for the near future, MiHoYo has enormous plans for Genshin Impact. including new characters, a new city, and more side missions. MiHoYo is encouraging the Genshin Impact community to speak up about the changes they want to see in the game, since player feedback will be a big part of the game’s future development.

Why Genshin Impact Isn’t Releasing On Xbox

The MiHoYo spokesman also spoke to IGN about the developer’s ambitions for bringing Genshin Impact to the next generation of consoles, in addition to future plans for the game’s development. MiHoYo’s plans for the next-gen version of Genshin Impact were not revealed, although they did mention discussions about future visual enhancements to the game, implying that it would be more than simply a simple port to newer systems. The representative didn’t say which systems Genshin Impact would be released on, but they did say which ones it wouldn’t: the Xbox and PlayStation. There was no explanation given, but the spokesman stated flatly, “We currently do not have a solution.”

Will Genshin Impact Eventually Be Available On Xbox?

It’s unclear why MiHoYo isn’t planning to create Genshin Impact for the Xbox Series X; perhaps it has something to do with Xbox’s dismal track record in Asia, where the Xbox One sold particularly poorly. Perhaps MiHoYo has a deal with Sony, as the game is now only available on the PlayStation 4 and includes special features not found in other versions of the game. Apart from the developer’s vague statement of disinterest, which should give Xbox fans a ray of hope, it’s difficult to pinpoint any specific reason.

Perhaps MiHoYo is just waiting to see how well the Xbox Series X sells before committing to making Genshin Impact for it. If the Series X goes well in Japan, it’s possible that Genshin Impact will make its way to the Microsoft platform after all. It’s already accessible on Microsoft Windows, so a transfer to the Xbox isn’t completely out of the question. For the time being, Xbox lovers will have to wait and hope that MiHoYo has a change of heart. Genshin Impact is presently accessible and free to play on PlayStation 4, PC, Android, and iOS for everyone else.
