Elements Strengths And Weaknesses In Voice Of Cards The Isle Dragon Roars

Elements Strengths And Weaknesses In Voice Of Cards The Isle Dragon Roars When players first start playing Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars, the combat may seem confusing. While there is a set number of attacks, those attacks do not always deal the same amount of damage. The JRPG combat algorithm behind the numbers may appear illogical, but it is mostly related to Elemental weaknesses and other variables.

Voice of Cards Battle Numbers

Most of the attacks in Square Enix’s new game Voice of Cards appear to be accompanied by a number, giving players a good idea of how many HP points the attack will deduct from an enemy. However, when calculating how much damage an attack will do, the math does not always add up. This is due to a variety of factors.

Damage numbers can be affected by a number of variables:

  • An Elemental Weakness that raises the attack value of an attack.
  • An Elemental Strength that lowers an attack value
  • The RNG that decides the actual value of an attack
  • The enemy’s defense
  • Critical hits

Because there are so many variables that can affect how much damage a character does, breaking down each section will help you understand how these numbers are calculated. Players must keep in mind that Voice of Cards is more of an RPG than a card game, and that numbers don’t always mean the same thing.

Voice of Cards Elemental Weaknesses and Strengths

The weaknesses of the elements in Voice of Cards are similar to those of many RPGs. An attack can be made up of a variety of elements, such as Bolt (lightning), Fire, Light, and Wind. However, it is not always possible to predict how a creature will react to a specific type of attack. Elements can be hinted at by the card’s artwork, but they are never explicitly mentioned during a battle. For example, if a creature appears to be made of wood, players can assume it is a plant elemental of some kind and that Fire is a powerful attack. This means that some other attacks, such as Bolt or Wind, may be weaker against the card. Similarly to many old-school JRPGs such as Final Fantasy, findingin

  • The attack number seems to be more of a suggestion than an actual number; similar to the damage numbers in many Pokemon games, players will deal a range of the attack number rather than the attack number itself. This RNG algorithm is not shown anywhere in the game, but players will see it when they begin calculating damage attempts.
  • Like elemental strengths, an enemy’s defense will also lower the number of an attack. Defense is subtracted from every attack that an enemy or player makes; however, the attack cannot go below one. Therefore if a player attacks for 10 and the enemy’s defense is 11, players will deal one damage.
  • In Square Enix’s Voice of Cards, critical strikes are randomized and depend on the attack, the character, their equipment, and other factors. Critical hits will always be a much larger number hit than would usually be possible with an attack.
