How to enable the Pixel 5’s Adaptive Sound feature on older Pixel phones

Google introduced its fifth Pixel Decline at the beginning of this month, adding several new updates to both old and new pixels. Any older pixel phones received features including Keep for Me and Intense Power Saver, while the recent adaptive sound feature only received support from the newest Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5.

The Adaptive Sound system is programmed to enhance the audio quality of the phone by tweaking its equalizer depending on your environment and the XDA Recognised Developer Freak07 enables this feature to be enabled in older pixel models. Here’s what you want to do if you’re involved in checking on your phone:

Enable Adaptive Sound (with root)

You can allow Adaptive Sound on rooted Pixel devices by taking a few simple steps which will continue to work even after your system has been restarted.

To do that, you first need to download and update on your computer the Pixel 5 edition of the Device Customization Services software from APK Mirror. Oh, the software for device personalization services is now installed,

but the sound adaptive function does not include the product update that Google has moved to your devices. Therefore, you could grab the pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 made by Google. You can download that version of the app by clicking this link.

You must download, update and restart your computer by installing and restarting the Magisk Manager application’s Adaptive Audio Settings Enabler module.

If you follow this link and flash it manually you can also download the module. You can see the Adaptive Sound function in system settings a few moments after a complete reboot.

Enable Adaptive Sound on older Pixel devices (without root)

On non-rooted Pixel computers, the process to allow Adaptive Sound is a little more complicated as you have to execute a couple of shell commands.

But before you get to that, you have to update the Pixel 5-specific version of the User Personalization Services from APK Mirror and install it on your device. ou can get the app by following this link.

Once you have the app installed, make sure you have USB Debugging enabled on your device. You can do so by heading over to Developer Options and tapping on the toggle next to the USB Debugging setting.

You’ll also need to ensure that you have a working ADB environment on your PC (we have a tutorial on that here). After you’ve done that, you’ll need to connect your phone to your PC and execute the following 3 commands one-by-one:

1)adb shell

2)device_config put device_personalization_services AdaptiveAudio__enable_adaptive_audio true

3)device_config put device_personalization_services AdaptiveAudio__show_promo_notification true

You can display the Adaptive Sound option in system settings after executing these three commands. However, this system does not allow Adaptive Sound to be permanently disab

led when you restart the system as opposed to the root user method This method is permanently removed. But, after the above moves, make sure that you don’t restart your machines, or that you need to move it again.
