All Pale Ore Locations in Hollow Knight:Where to find All Pale Ore Locations

All Pale Ore Locations in Hollow Knight:Where to find All Pale Ore Locations. In Hollow Knight, Pure Nail is the Nail’s strongest form. So how to obtain the Pure Nail? Collect Pale Ore and bring it to the Nailsmith in the City of Tears. Then he’ll do the job.

There are a total of 6 Pale Ores, which can be found all across the Hallownest. The Nailsmith will require various materials for each improvement. However, you need not be concerned because what you will receive will be worthwhile.

This guide will tell you where all of the Pale Ore spots in Hollow Knight are. We’ll also rank Pale Ores from easiest to hardest to obtain, as well as provide some tips and tactics to make your quest as simple as pie.

All Pale Ore Locations in Hollow Knight

To gain this Pale Ore, I recommend gathering the Mantis Claw, Monarch Wings, and Crystal Heart ahead of time. In fact, Mantis Claw is the only requirement (along with amazing pogo-jumping skills*). Unless you believe your life is already difficult enough, I strongly advise you to get these two. To collect this Pale Ore, you don’t need to fight any bosses; all you have to do is climb to the summit of the Crystal Peak.

For the location and the function of these three recommended skills:

  • Mothwing Cloak: Press DASH to dash a short distance, which helps you cross the gaps too far to reach by normal jumping. Can be found on the body of a Vessel after defeating Hornet in Greenpath.
  • Mantis Claw: Help you cling to the wall, and pressing JUMP while clinging helps you perform another jump. Can be acquired in Mantis Village of the Fungal Wastes.
  • Crystal Heart: Hold DASH for about 1 second and release the button to rocket forwards. Only be interrupted when the Knight hit a wall or take damages. It can be acquired in Crystal Peak.

Pale Ore in Forgotten Crossroads

You’ll come across Grubs imprisoned in glass jars during your journey. When you return to the Grubhome in Forgotten Crossroads after rescuing them, the Grubfather will reward you with Geo, Charms, and a Pale Ore if you save 31 Grubs.

Despite the fact that you don’t have to fight any bosses to save 31 Grubs, there are only 46 of them in the Hallownest. You won’t be able to tell how many Grubs you’ve saved either. Nonetheless, isn’t it true that hard work pays off?

Pale Ore in Deepnest

Deepnest and Royal Waterways are two regions I don’t want to revisit because of the gloomy and stuffy atmosphere, as well as the monotonous, strange, and dangerous foes. However, I believe that the Nosk in Deepnest is the simplest boss to beat in order to obtain Pale Ore because there are two areas that will protect you from the Nosk (which is readily figured out, and I don’t want to spoil your experience by making it too easy).

Furthermore, the Nosk is a secret boss, and you must smash a breakable wall to reach its lair. Then you’ll arrive at a maze and encounter the Nosk, who is posing as another “the Knight.” You will be able to reach the boon if you pursue this version of Nosk till the end.

*pogo-jumping: a skill in which you jump over foes and strike them down at the appropriate time. You’ll be bouncing up as if you’re doing a JUMP if you’re successful.

You can upgrade your Nail to Coiled Nail after collecting 3 Pale Ores. Your weapon’s damage will be tripled (from 5 to 17), and your strength will be increased, but keep in mind that this is only the beginning of your journey on Hallownest.

The remaining three Pale Ores will need you to engage in boss battles that could take hours to complete. But keep in mind that things will only get more difficult in Hollow Knight, not the other way around. So lace up your boots and prepare for the next battle.

Pale Ore in Ancient Basin

Two Lesser Mawlek may be located in the Ancient Basin, which you must defeat. They are a smaller and weaker version of Brooding Mawlek, the Forgotten Crossroads mini-boss. If you’re tired of looking for 31 Grubs, this might be a better option for collecting the 3rd Pale Ore.

To be honest, they aren’t powerful enough to be referred to as “boss.” You have the ability to quickly assess and recall their assault patterns. Pale Ore is imbedded on a fossil stone near the left end of the area once you’ve gotten through them.

Pale Ore in Resting Ground

The Seer who lives in the north part of the Resting Grounds will give you this Pale Ore. But first, let’s figure out how to get to Resting Grounds.

There are two routes that will take you there. The simplest route is to jump through the rabbit hole from the Crystalised Mound’s entrance. When you reach the surface, you’ll be on the Resting Grounds. Using the elevator in the City of Tears is another more difficult option. You will, however, encounter multiple mini-bosses on your way there. Also, the Seer will not give you Pale Ore for free, thus I advise you to go with the former.

After entering Resting Grounds, turn right and you’ll come across the Dreamers Memorial. You will be transported to the Dream World after inspecting these. Then you’ll be on the hunt for the Seer’s dream form. When you find the Seer, she’ll give you the Dream Nail and take you back to her home. After a brief talk between the two of you, she will urge you to locate and collect Essence and return it to her. The Seer will give you Pale Ore if you return after acquiring 300 Essence.

How and where do you harvest Essence once more? There are five different places where you can get Essence. Whispering Roots, on the other hand, is the principal source of Essence, with a total of 482 available.

Pale Ore in Colosseum of Fools

The Colosseum of Fools is an arena at the top of the Kingdom’s Edge where you must fight infinite waves of attackers one after the other. This is the most difficult Pale Ore to obtain because you only have a short amount of time to rest and heal after each wave, therefore you must remain focused because a mistake will result in a retake.

Fortunately, to obtain Pale Ore, you only need to complete the first Trail – Trail of the Warrior – where your enemies are slower and you have more break time to recharge your Masks than the other two Trails. Longnail and Quick Focus are two charms I recommend for this stage.

The trails are where you can meet up with old friends like Gruz Mother, Vengefly King, and even Zote the Mighty (even though he is innocuous and not your enemy as well).

My advice is to keep track of the wave’s order and enemy actions. There will be waves where adversaries will offer you plenty of opportunities to heal, but others will not allow you a second or any space. It’s possible that you’ll have to repeat tasks multiple times, but try to learn from your mistakes and develop a strategy that works for you.
