New World Herb Farming Guide: All Herb Locations

New World Herb Farming Guide: All Herb Locations.Cooking in New World has the most diverse ingredient list of any crafting profession. From nearly the start of the cooking grind, you will find yourself looking for a plethora of obscure and unusual ingredients. Some ingredients can only be found in provision crates strewn across the globe, while others can be harvested from herb plants.

The caveat is that herb plant drops are specific to the area you are in. So if you’ve been farming herb plants in Windsward for Garlic, you’re out of luck and will have to go to Everfall for that.

Guide to Growing Herbs in the New World

We’ll share our favourite herb farming routes in each of the four starting territories in this guide. These paths will take you through thirteen of the sixteen different herbs. Herbs are more abundant in the beginning areas, and mobs are of a lower level, making our lives easier. We will also go over the best equipment and items to help you increase your output.

Routes for Beginning Territory Herb Farming

Here are our top herb farming routes in the beginning territories. They are arranged in the order that we believe is best to worst. Over time, farming herbs in all four locations will yield Mint, Thyme, Ginger, Cinnamon, Dill, Nutmeg, Saffron, Oregano, Paprika, and Peppercorn.

Mint,Thyme, and Ginger – Windsward

Windsward has the best herb route of any starting point. Make your way down to the territory’s starting point and equip your harvesting gear. Aside from herbs, this route is densely packed with berries, hemp, and even a few provision crates. Because the area is teeming with low-level boars, there will be little fighting.

Cinnamon, Dill, Nutmeg, and Saffron – First Light

Out of the starting areas, First Light is the best herb farming route. This path begins just north of First Light. This route has a bit more zig-zagging than the others, but it also has a lot of hemp. When you finish this route, you can stop by the farm for some corn and cabbage.

Oregano, Paprika, and Peppercorn – Monarch’s Bluff

In that territory, the Monarch’s Bluff herb route can be found just east of the fort. This is the longest route, requiring the most walking time without a harvest to reset the loop. However, the herb nodes are fairly dense, so your output should be adequate.

Basil, Garlic, and Parsley – Everfall

The Everfall route has the lowest output, but it is nicely condensed, so you don’t waste time walking around. This route can be found just west of town in the Everfall starting area. On the way, you’ll see a lot of berries, hemp, and even a few iron nodes.

Harvesting Equipment and Items

Your equipment selection is straightforward. You should equip as much armour as possible with increased Harvesting Luck. It makes no difference what your gear score or secondary stats are. You’re only interested in the best Harvesting Luck. This type of gear will drop naturally as you play, but you can also buy it at the auction house or craft it if you have the necessary materials.

Aside from the armour, you’ll need to make or buy a lot of Cooked Corn. The various tiers of cooked corn food will increase your harvesting luck. The effect will last for 25 minutes, so keep an eye on it and eat more when it fades.

Territory Specific Provisions

Not only are the herbs you get from harvesting specific to the area you’re in, but so is the food in provision crates. Here’s a list of the drops you’ll find in provision crates, organised by territory.

  • Windsward â€“ Coconut, Milk, Sugar
  • First Light â€“ Cauliflower, Melon, Milk, Onion
  • Monarch’s Bluff â€“ Milk, Rice, Tomato, Yeast
  • Everfall â€“ Milk, Salt, String Bean
  • Brightwood â€“ Apple, Milk, Salt, Yeast
  • Cutlass Keys â€“ Milk, Onion, Orange, Tomato
  • Weaver’s Fen â€“ Coconut, Lemon, Melon, Milk
