Back 4 Blood Roadmap 2021. end-of-year and 2022 roadmaps were recently published, with several additions highlighted. While the November update focuses on some much-needed quality-of-life improvements as well as bug fixes, it also includes some new features. Most, if not all, of these have been requested by fans and will, in the end, enhance the enjoyable experience that Back 4 Blood provides. On top of that, the roadmap outlines a strategy for adding a slew of new content in the near future and keeping Back 4 Blood running until 2022.
However, before 2022, there will be additions in December of this year. This includes adding solo offline progression to Back 4 Blood next month, as well as new supply lines that will most likely include the new card types and cards added to Back 4 Blood. Because Back 4 Blood’s roguelike nature is so reliant on its cards to provide its unique experience, expanding the current card list should help keep players engaged until the end of the year.
Roadmap for Back 4 Blood
When the first of three expansions for Back 4 Blood arrives next year, it will begin with the Tunnels of Terror. The new storey expansion will introduce new Cleaners as well as new Ridden for players to encounter. While the recent Back 4 Blood update allows players to unlock all characters, it’s likely that fans will need to progress in order to unlock the new Cleaners from Tunnels of Terror. In addition to new weapons, cards, and exclusive cosmetics, the first of three expansions will include a new activity type.
This makes sense for maintaining some level of player progression while also contributing to the game’s longevity. The new Ridden, on the other hand, should be a source of concern for players.
Since the free update for 2022 has already confirmed this, players may face a challenge that matches the difficulty of the most recent pre-patch challenge. A new co-op mode, an update to Back 4 Blood’s melee mechanics, new corruption cards, and even more new player cards for fans to collect and build decks with will accompany this. While there are still some major issues with Back 4 Blood, this is a great start to moving the game forward.
These additions are also helpful in fleshing out the roguelike mechanics that Back 4 Blood employs, but they are only the beginning. Back 4 Blood can still learn a lot from Left 4 Dead 2’s longevity in the future. Both games fill the same zombie-shaped hole, albeit in different ways, and many consider Back 4 Blood to be a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead.
