In Genshin Impact, do chests respawn?
In a nutshell, no. In Genshin Impact, chests do not respawn. Instead, new ones may be introduced alongside new game versions. When players begin the game, they have access to all chests in the open world. Completionists can keep track of their progress using the Interactive Map.
Chest Locations in Genshin Impact
As of Genshin Impact 2.2, there are now five types of boxes in the game. Common Chest is the most common of the five, while Luxurious Chest is the most valuable:
- Common Chest
- Exquisite Chest
- Precious Chest
- Luxurious Chest
- Remarkable Chest
Exquisite Chests and Common Chests can be found in the open world and as a reward for simple puzzles or following Seelies.
Common chests are mostly made of wood with a rounded top that is held together with common metal. When you open them, you can get up to 2 Primogems, 10-20 Adventure Experience, 1-3 Sigils, Mora, and Weapon Enhancement, Talent Level-Up, or Chest.
These chests contain mostly the same rewards as regular chests, but they can also contain an extra 2-5 Primogems, 20-to-30 Adventure Experience to help raise a player’s Adventure Rank in Genshin Impact, 3-4 Sigils, Mora, and Materials. Weapons and artefacts, including 3-star items, can also drop from these chests.
Precious Chests, which are wooden chests with gold, usually require Travelers to complete complex quests and puzzles, but not always. These chests can give you up to ten Primogems, thirty Adventure Experience, and four to ten Si.

Luxurious Chests, like Precious Chests, spawn after completing difficult quests and puzzles.
There are ten Shrine of Depths to open in each region. Each one produces 40 Primogems. As a result, players can obtain a total of 1200 Primogems across the three regions.
These crates, unlike the others, only reward one furnishing blueprint. In addition, this new box appears in some older chest spots, giving the impression of a resurrected chest.
In Genshin Impact, how many luxurious chests are there?
As of Genshin Impact 2.2, there are 115 Luxurious Chests available:
- Version 1.0-1.5: 70 Luxurious Chests are available.

- Version 2.0: 22 Luxurious Chests added in the first three islands of Inazuma.
