This mechanic reappears in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, as expected. Trainers must bring one female and one male Pokemon of a compatible species to the Pokemon Daycare. Those looking to hatch Pokemon available through breeding may require Ditto’s assistance.
Since Generation 2, players have paired Ditto with a Pokemon of the species they wish to breed. Trainers will naturally want to know where they can catch Ditto in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl as well. However, there are some prerequisites that must be met before proceeding.
Finish the Sinnoh Dex
Players won’t be able to catch Ditto until they have the National Dex. Trainers must see every Pokemon in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl to obtain the National Dex. This does not imply that you must catch them all. Simply battling or viewing images in-game will add a Pokemon to the Pokedex.
