Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Version Is Arriving Soon

Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Version Is Arriving Soon. We felt a small shock of hope when CD Projekt Red revealed that it would host a Cyberpunk 2077 livestream after months of silence on the game’s future. The knew we’d have to play the newly available PlayStation 5 version for ourselves after the developer kicked off the livestream with a horribly lacklustre ‘next-gen’ demo — and so here we are with our initial impressions.

Spent approximately four hours with the newly upgraded game, loading up an old PS4 save and stomping across Night City. While it’s still Cyberpunk 2077 – a game that many consider to be a frustratingly thin RPG — it now feels like a finished product. It’s actually polished, it looks beautiful, and it’s not going to crash your console every time you take a sharp curve in a fast car.

If you can believe it, it’s taken more than a year to get here. Cyberpunk 2077, on the other hand, is in a much better situation thanks to PS5 technology and a massive update that’s been months in the making. You’ll notice enhancements all over the place if you’re familiar with the PS4 version – even if you played it on the PS5 via backwards compatibility. The dynamic 4K resolution produces an enormously better image, and the frame rate is a silky smooth 60 — with occasional minor dips while speeding through a busy location.

The streets of Night City are more crowded, and NPCs don’t simply vanish when the camera is turned. There are a lot of cars on the roadways, and drivers may sometimes drive around parked cars. However, the most significant difference we discovered throughout our little test occurs when you fire a pistol. Spray some lead near ordinary people and they’ll flee, while scared cars slam on the brakes, wreaking havoc on the road. That, my friends, is artificial intelligence in action. What an incredible time to be alive!

PS5 Version Is Arriving Soon

Obviously, this is the kind of standard fare you’d expect from an open world game. However, as compared to the disaster that was released in 2020, it’s a genuine step forward. Furthermore, a variety of small changes to one’s quality of life can soon mount up. Better driving controls, the ability to ignore pushy task givers’ solicitations, and — thank God — clearer map markings are all much-needed improvements.

The PS5 features in the game are also worth mentioning. CDPR has made excellent use of the DualSense controller, which may come as a surprise. The adaptive triggers can be a little too stiff at times, but the tactile feedback is excellent. The guns have a particularly pleasing rumbling. A dedicated ray tracing mode reduces the frame rate everywhere, but the reflections and refractions are stunning. It’s worth turning on at least once to see how it works.

The basic line is that the PS5 is capable of running Cyberpunk 2077, and it shows. This almost seems like a miracle because. The PS4 version felt like it was on the point of imploding all the time.

Again, if you don’t like Cyberpunk 2077 at its heart – its gameplay. Mechanics, and systems – this PS5 version is unlikely to persuade you otherwise. However, if you wanted to play last-gen Cyberpunk 2077 but couldn’t due to its numerous technical faults. Now might be the moment to do it.

Have you played Cyberpunk 2077 on the PlayStation 5 yet? We’ll have a comprehensive review for you soon, but in the meanwhile. Let us know if you’ve returned to Night City in the comments section below.
