A “skeleton key” is required to open this chest. You might be wondering how to get that infamous’skeleton key’ to open the chest if you’re new to Gearbox games and haven’t played Borderlands previously.
We strongly advise you to wait until your character has reached full level (i.e. 40) before opening the treasure in Firehoof Plaza once you’ve gotten your first Skeleton Key in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. The amount of loot you get is, in fact, determined by your character’s level. It would be a pity to squander a key on a weapon you’ll only use for 4 or 5 levels. So save your level 40 weapons and stuff for the Skeleton Chest until the final possible minute!
