You can play with various settings once you’ve purchased your Blocksburg home. Your dwelling permits are one setting in particular that you should examine. Select Manage Permissions from the House tab, which you can access from either your mailbox or by clicking on another player.

You can choose the permission level that best suits your needs. Let’s imagine you want to allow some strangers into your home, but you don’t want them to have full access. You can grant them guest access and then lock specific rooms that you don’t want them to see.
