The fourth part of the “Interlude Chapter: Act II – Perilous Trail,” “End of the Line,” features a puzzle in which Genshin Impact Travelers must use the Fantastic Compass to navigate Story Domain, The Realm of Snaring Illusions. To get to the “End of the Line,” players must first complete the following quests: “The Unexpected Guest,” “Chasmic Maze,” and “Danger All Around.” All of these missions take place in The Chasm, a subregion west of Liyue Harbour. After speaking with Paimon and entering the Domain, Genshin Impact fans must battle their way through enemies before solving the Fantastic Compass puzzle.

Players must play as Yanfei to defeat two waves of Treasure Hoarders after entering The Realm of Snaring Illusions. Following that, fans will use Yanfei and Yelan to repel the Fatui. After the battle sequence is completed, Genshin Impact Travelers must solve the Fantastic Compass puzzle by interacting with the compass’s needle in a specific manner multiple times.

In the following sections of the Domain, players must solve mini-puzzles based on clues found in Notes of Unknown Origin. However, if the player already knows the solution to the Fantastic Compass in Genshin Impact, these notes can be ignored. The following are the steps for finishing The Realm of Snaring Illusions:
- 1st, destroy the small sakura to the right of the miniature compass. Once, select the option “Rotate the Needle Forward.” Proceed to the next area by passing through the gateway.
- 2: In the second location, go to the right gate and pull the lever to open it. Approach the small disc and once select “Rotate the Needle Forward.” Enter the next area’s gateway.
- 3: Destroy the spider web on the right and select the option “Rotate the Needle Backward” twice for the third site. Proceed to the next area by passing through the gateway.
- 4: For the final area, select “Rotate the Needle Backward” once. To complete the challenge, proceed through the gateway.
