What to Grow for the Ginger Island Frog Stardew Valley

What to Grow for the Ginger Island Frog Stardew Valley. On June 18, 2023, Demaris Oxman updated: Stardew Valley’s appeal is still strong seven years after its initial release. Players from all over the world swarm to this small farming simulation’s comfort and charm. Fans are giddy with anticipation for the game’s 1.6 update after the developer recently made the announcement.

The most recent significant update to the game, version 1.5, exposes players to an entirely new farming environment on the subtropical Ginger Island. There are also some odd, intriguing new folks living in the region. The Gourmand Frog, for instance, can be found on the players’ new farm and a bizarre new buddy who happy to see crops flourishing once more on the island. Players can assist this frog in reliving his glory years as the new manager of the farm on Ginger Island. His demands, though, are a little ambiguous. Here are the plants to grow for the Ginger Island frog in Stardew Valley.

How to enter The Frog’s Cave

West Ginger Island

Large portions of the new area will be inaccessible when players initially arrive to Ginger Island. Collecting Golden Walnuts for the neighbourhood parrots is the only way to unlock them. The farmer must open Ginger Island West in order to reach the frog’s home. When you arrive, a huge turtle will be dozing off and blocking this spot. The player must gather 10 Golden Walnuts for the neighbouring parrot in order to rouse him up so that he would move out of the way and clear the route.

The Farm at Ginger Island

Before the player may enter the cave of the Gourmand Frog, there is one more obstacle to overcome. The player must spend their Golden Walnuts to repair the farmhouse in the Island West region before they may go inside the frog’s house and talk to him. This upgrade will set you back 20 Golden Walnuts, and it will finished right away. There many set spots on the island where walnuts are buried; click here to find out where they are all located.

Following the restoration of the farmhouse, players can explore the farm’s upper right corner to discover a cave that previously hidden there. To communicate with the Gourmand Frog of Stardew Valley, enter.

The Demands of The Gourmand Frog

The Demands of The Gourmand Frog
What to Grow for the Ginger Island Frog Stardew Valley

The Gourmand Frog makes a comment about how the island used to be bursting with fresh food and then goes on to explain an item he wants to see grown once more when the player speaks to him. He doesn’t appear to know the names of these things, so he speaks in riddles. The player must use his descriptions to decipher his three demands in order to figure out what they each require in order to advance.

The Ginger Island frog wants to see these things three times, in this order:

  • When the player first encounters the frog, he will request “da pink thing…da juicy thing.” To satisfy his desire, plant and raise at least one ripe melons.
  • The player will request “da longo yellow ticklin’ thing” the following time he comes over.the item that is moving with the wind. Golden Wheat is a good example of this.
  • Last but not least, the frog desires “da zesty ground-fruit, but make da breath stink.” Garlic, a pungent, subterranean plant, is appropriate here.

Players cannot accomplish all the quests at once; rather, the frog will direct them as to what he wants them to see after they have received the reward for one. However, they can grow all crops simultaneously and obtain the following task by going back to the frog right away after doing each quest.

Increasing Crops

There is no need to use fertilizer in the soil to finish this task because the frog will be happy with the things no matter how well they grow. There is no need to wait for the correct season because all crops can thrive on Ginger Island throughout the year. Read on for instructions of where and how to obtain the right seeds, as the player may need to wait to buy them first.

Melons

During the summer, melon seeds may purchased for 80g at Pierre’s and 100g at JojaMart. After the player donates 12 things to the museum, Gunther will also give them 9 seeds.

Melons require 12 days to mature after planted. With Speed-Gro, Deluxe Speed-Gro, or Hyper Speed-Gro, this can shortened to 10 days, 9 days, or 8 days, respectively. Planting at least 9 seeds on a 3×3 square will allow players to attempt a massive crop of melons.

Wheat

In the summer and fall, wheat seeds can purchased. At Pierre’s, they are 10g, and at JojaMart, they are 12g. These must picked using a scythe, unlike other crops.

4 days after planting, wheat reaches maturity. The only Speed-Gro that has an impact on it because of its quick growth cycle Hyper Speed-Gro, with which it will be ready in 3 days.

Garlic

In the spring, players can purchase garlic seedlings, but only starting with Year 2. This is unlikely to be much of a problem, though, as the majority of gamers probably won’t visit Ginger Island in Year 1 anyhow.

These seeds not sold at JojaMart and cost 40g at Pierre’s. They mature in 4 days, just like wheat, and only accelerated by Hyper Speed-Gro.

Although the player’s natural inclination might be to gather their mature crops and give them to their froggy companion, Ginger Island’s Gourmand Frog prefers to observe crops develop. Do not harvest the proper crop until it has reached full maturity. Return to the Gourmand Frog’s cave instead. In response to his inquiry about whether the player is growing “da thing” outside, say “Yes.” The player will see a cutscene in which the frog and player are admiring the harvest and the frog is reflecting on his earlier years. The frog will make comments about wanting to eat the crops, but he won’t actually gather any of them; the player allowed to do so later.

The player and the frog go back to the frog’s cave following the cutscene. Here, the farmer will receive 5 Golden Walnuts as payment from the Gourmand Frog. Thus, completing all three crop requests results in a total of 15 Golden Walnuts, a big bonus for a simple chore. Spend them on island improvements!

FAQ

What harvest produces the most money on Ginger Island Stardew?

These are only useful if you use them to produce pale ale in a keg. Hops provide some of the most effective money returns per seed purchased in the entire game, theoretically. You could earn 360,000 gold per day if you filled Ginger Island with kegs and hops.
