How To Survive The Crystal Cave In Subnautica Below Zero

How To Survive The Crystal Cave In Subnautica Below Zero. Subnautica: Below Zero was released in its entirety on May 14, 2021, and it maintained the same fundamental gameplay as its critically acclaimed predecessor. Players are once again stranded on Planet 4546B, where they must explore the ocean’s depths while creating a variety of suits, vehicles, bases, and other items. Unfortunately, players are not alone when travelling beneath the water, as they were in the previous game.

Subnautica: Below Zero’s water, as well as its new polar biomes, are once again overrun with frightening animals that will attack players on sight. The incredibly stunning Crystal Caves is one of the game’s primary biomes. Because this location is so important in the final game, it has some of the most difficult environmental hazards and predators that players will have to contend with.

Jack Pursey’s January 27, 2022 update: One of Subnautica’s strongest points:Subnautica Below Zero is similar to its predecessor in that it provides no guidance and allows players to explore Planet 4546B in their own way. This level of freedom reinforces the sense that the players are on their own in their attempt to leave the planet, while simultaneously emphasising the need of crafting, as nothing prevents players from diving into the fatal depths of the ocean without the required gear. We’ve updated this list to include an alternate route through the Crystal Caves in honour of this freedom of choice.

How To Reach The Biome & What To Do There

How To Reach The Crystal Caves

Before diving into the hazards of the Crystal Caves, it’s important to understand how to get there and why you’re visiting the perilous habitat. The Crystal Caves can be entered from two directions. One is near Marguerit Maida’s Base in the Tree Spires biome, and the other is below the Deep Purple Vents and may be reached by descending down a huge, initially dark cave.

The Crystal Caves feature depths ranging from 480 to 840 metres, so make sure your vehicle has an appropriate Depth Upgrade to make the voyage. The Seatruck, for example, will require the Seatruck Depth Upgrade MK3 in order to reach its maximum depth. How To Survive The Crystal Cave In Subnautica Below Zero

To craft the Seatruck Depth Upgrade MK3, the following items need to be combined at a Modification Station:

  • 1x Kyanite
  • 3x Nickel Ore
  • 1’x Plasteel Ingot
  • 1x Seatruck Depth Upgrade MK2

What To Do There

The Crystal Caves Cache is one of the key reasons to visit the Crystal Caves. The Cache is located at a depth of 820 metres deep within the Crystal Castle section of the caves. Look for a small cave system with Morganite formations that are larger than the rest of the area to find the Crystal Castle. The cache is located at 517 -828 -696 for PC players who use coordinates. Because it includes the organ portion of Al-anatomy, An’s the Crystal Caves Cache is essential for completing the game.

The Fabricator Caverns, which house the Fabricator Base required to complete the game, are also accessible through the Crystal Caves. How To Survive The Crystal Cave In Subnautica Below Zero

Crafting The Seatruck

A Seatruck, as indicated above and below, will be quite useful to players in this biome. The Seatruck Afterburner and Seatruck Perimeter Defense Upgrade, in addition to the aforementioned Seatruck Depth Upgrade MK3, are two further improvements that players should create to give themselves the best chance in the Crystal Caves.

The Seatruck Afterburner essentially does what it says on the tin, providing players with a brief burst of speed that can aid them in avoiding approaching Leviathans. Meanwhile, the Seatruck Perimeter Defense Upgrade will repel predators such as Shadow Leviathans by releasing an electrical field that forces them to flee.

Mobile Vehicle Bay

To craft the Seatruck itself, players first need to craft theMobile Vehicle Bay at a Fabricator with:

  • 1x Computer Chip
  • 1//x Lubricant
  • 1x Titanium Ingot

Seatruck

Then, to craft the Seatruck, combine the following items at the Mobile Vehicle Bay:

  • 1x Advanced Wiring Kit
  • 2x Glass
  • 3x Lead
  • 1x Power Cell
  • 1/x Titanium Ingot

Afterburner

To craft the Seatruck Afterburner, the player needs to combine the following items at a Fabricator:

  • 2x Crystalline Sulfur
  • 2x Lithium
  • 1x Power Cell
  • 1x Wiring Kit

Perimeter Defense Upgrade

To craft the Seatruck Perimeter Defense Upgrade, players must combine the following at a Fabricator:

  • 1,,,x Computer Chip
  • 1,,x Polyaniline
  • 1x Power Cell
  • 2x Ruby

Alternative Method – Craft The Prawn Suit

Although the Seatruck is the most prevalent mode of transportation through the Crystal Caves, the Prawn Suit is a feasible alternative that many people have utilised and found to be successful. The Prawn Suit varies from the Seatruck in that it is a suit that the player wears to roam around on the ocean floor, as the name implies. The Prawn Suit’s alternate movement gives you a fresh perspective and makes it easier to navigate certain locations, while the suit itself can be upgraded.

The Depth Module Mk2, the Jump Jet Upgrade, the Torpedo Arm, and the Grappling Arm are all required to navigate the Crystal Caves with the Prawn Suit. How to make each of these improvements, as well as the Prawn Suit, is detailed below. Players must first build the Mobile Vehicle Bay, which is discussed in the Seatruck section above, before they may manufacture the Prawn Suit.

Prawn Suit

To craft the Prawn Suit, players need to combine the following items at the Mobile Vehicle Bay:

  • 1…x Computer Chip
  • 1..x Plasteel Ingot
  • 1.x Power Cell
  • 1x Enameled Glass

Prawn Suit Depth Module Mk2

The Prawn Suit Depth Module Mk2 is necessary to manufacture since without it, players would be unable to reach the lower levels of the Crystal Caves. At the Modification Station, players must combine the following elements to create the Depth Module Mk2:

  • 1x Prawn Suit Depth Module MK1
  • 1x Kyanite
  • 2x Nickel Ore

Jump Jet Upgrade

The Jump Jet Upgrade is also necessary since without it, players will be stuck on the ocean floor. Players must combine the following elements at a Fabricator or a Vehicle Upgrade Console to create the Jump Jet Upgrade.

  • 2x Nickel Ore
  • 3x Crystalline Sulfur
  • 5x Titanium
  • 1x Lithium

Torpedo Arm

Although the Torpedo Arm is technically optional, Shadow Leviathans will be nearly impossible to defeat without it. Players must combine the following elements at a Fabricator or a Vehicle Upgrade Console to make the Torpedo Arm.

  • 5x Titanium
  • 1x Lithium
  • 1x Aerogel

Grappling Arm

The grappling arm isn’t required, but without it, players are taking a significant risk and should consider Murphy’s Law before entering the Crystal Caves. Some holes are too deep to escape with simply the Jet Upgrade, leaving the player vulnerable to Shadow Leviathans if they don’t have the ability to Spider-Man out with the Grappling Arm. Players must combine the following items at a Fabricator or a Vehicle Upgrade Console to create the Grappling Arm.

  • 1x Benzene
  • 1x Advanced Wiring Kit
  • 2x Titanium
  • 1x Lithium

Dangerous Predators & How To Deal With Them

The following aggressive predators can be found in the Crystal Caves: Crashfish, Rock Punchers, and two Shadow Leviathans.

Crashfish

Crashfish hide in Sulfur Plants and ambush players, exploding when they go too close. Sulfur plants are mainly found in small, narrow caverns, therefore stay away from them if at all possible.

Rock Puncher

These animals roam the ocean floor, and if they come too close, they will jump up and attack the player. Players will most likely be travelling through the Crystal Caves in a vehicle, so they won’t have to worry about these slow-moving monsters.

Shadow Leviathan

Shadow Leviathans are the most terrifying creatures not only in the Crystal Caves, but throughout the game. Players have very little chance of escape them if they are noticed because they are aggressive and deceivingly swift. As a result, defensive enhancements that will deter the creature’s attacks are worthwhile.

Despite the fact that the Prawn Suit is a viable choice, the Seatruck is the finest vehicle to bring to the Crystal Caves because of its superior mobility. The Seatruck also suffers the least amount of damage from the Leviathan’s bite, ranging from 20 to 35 points, whilst the Prawn Suit takes 33 to 42 points and Robin takes a whopping 75 points while swimming naked.
