How To Get A Boost Start In Hot Wheels Unleashed

How To Get A Boost Start In Hot Wheels Unleashed. The start boost has always been a part of racing games, especially Arcade Racers. It gives players the extra speed they need to get off to a good start in each race. HotWheels Unleashed also has a boost, but instead of just one boost, players can try for three different ones. When the acceleration button pressed, each one gives a different amount of boost power, from 1/4 of a bar to a full bar.

In previous racing games, players had to hit their acceleration just before “Go” (after counting down 3, 2, 1), but in Hotwheels Unleashed, players only have to hit their acceleration between “3” and “2” in the actual countdown. When the race starts, players still have to press their boost button for it to work. So, if you want to get off to the fastest possible start, make sure to hit the boost as soon as the countdown ends to send the car flying forward. The smallest boost will be red and give 1/4 of a boost bar. The middle boost will be green and give 3/4 of a boost bar to the player. The best boost, which will be purple, will give players a full bar of boost.

The Boost Red

To get the smallest/red boost, players will need to press the acceleration button as soon as the “3” in the countdown starts to disappear. When the timing is right, a red fire will start under the car and burn for about a second before going out. Even though it goes away, the 1/4 bar of boost (or one circle, depending on the car) will still there and ready to be used.

The Green Boost

The player has two chances to get the green boost, which makes it the easiest and, perhaps, most common boost they will see in the game. Pressing the acceleration button right before the “2” on the countdown timer will be the first chance. The second chance will come after the number “2” is already on the screen, but before it starts to go away.

When both of these done right, the car will shoot out green “fire” from under it. Just like with the red boost, the green “fire” will go away and turn into smoke, but the 3/4 bar of boost (or two circles, depending on the car) will stay.

The Boost in Purple

The last and best boost will be purple. It will be the hardest to get, but you won’t have too much trouble timing it right. This boost will happen in the middle of the two green boosts. As soon as the “2” appears on the screen, players should press the acceleration button. Each number in the countdown will be accompanied by a sound, so the goal is to hit the acceleration button as soon as the “2” sound comes on.

If you do it right, a purple flame will come out from under the car. Like the red and green boosts, it will disappear after about a second, but the full bar of boost (or three circles, depending on the car) it gives will stay until the player uses it.
